From his first shift in Quebec, Joe Sakic represented himself not as an athlete who wanted to be the best in the league, but instead he acted as if he wanted to be a team captain. He was a rare skater who consistently finished around the 100-point mark yet was as unselfish a player as ever skated in the NHL. He was the consummate pro, earning co-captain duties to begin just his third season in Quebec before being named full-time captain two seasons later. When he was the Nordiques' sole captain, the team won 47 games and notched 104 points, both franchise highs. Despite playing just seven of his 20 NHL seasons in Quebec, he ranks fourth on the team's career goals and points list. His professional Journey took him and the organization to Colorado for the 1995-96 season as he finished his career with 1,641 career points and two Stanley Cup championships.
Sakic has signed this limited edition (50) 16 x 20 image in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
