When the Philadelphia Flyers were founded in 1967, it was immediately established that they would have an orange and black color scheme in honor of the Philadelphia Quakers, the former NHL team in the city. Ever since, the Flyers have kept this unique look with variations of orange and black. For the first time in the 1997-98 season, the team introduced alternate jerseys with black as the main color. The captain on that team was Eric Lindros, now considered one of the greatest Flyers of all time. In his eight seasons in Philadelphia, the future hall-of-famer was a six-time All-Star and won one Hart Memorial Trophy (MVP), while also taking the team to a Stanley Cup Finals. Lindros remains forever associated with the Flyers, as now are the black jerseys, which has seen time as primary jerseys and whose variation still remains in the rotation today.
This image is autographed by Eric Lindros with a silver paint pen. Lindros’ signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck Authenticated representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
